ABOUT
A
brief history of Anfield Online
Anfield Online was set up in 1997 by a Liverpool
supporter on a 'free' webserver. Since those early days the webteam
has expanded due to the help of a number of cast-iron Liverpudlians
on a voluntary basis. We provide updates around the clock (nearly)
every day of the year from Liverpool in the UK.
In 1999 we moved on to a full web server and moved to our current
web address.
In 2000 we pioneered a number of firsts including free match result
text messaging.
In 2001 and 2002 we concentrated on increasing our supporter base
and gave away countless videos and shirts and even the odd couple
of tickets.
Season 2002/03 represents our 6th season on the internet, and we
hope to continue to provide you with the best unofficial resource
on Liverpool on the internet. We operate as a non-commercial website,
with any money raised via advertising or through our online store
covering the hosting fees for the site and telco costs. Any further
capital is spent on competitions or developing new features on the
website.
You will not see any columns from former Liverpool players because
as far as we are concerned their opinion counts for exactly the
same as each and every one of you Liverpool fans, no more. Our priorities
are in-depth news, features and reports on everything to do with
the mighty reds.
If you would like to submit an article on any aspect of the mighty
reds then please do so by contacting us on our normal email address.
Cheers
