FRENCH DUO EAGER TO JOIN REDS

French starlet Anthony Le Tallec has spoken of his delight at his impending move to Liverpool, describing the transfer as a "dream come true".

Le Tallec is likely to move to Anfield this summer with team-mate Florent Sinama-Pongolle following Le Havre's relegation from the First Division.

And both 18-year-olds, regarded as the best young talents in France are said to be looking forward to the move.

Le Tallec who made his name in the Under-17s World Cup in 2001 said: "Of course we are both excited about moving to Liverpool. To play in England where the atmosphere at the matches is incredible, is a dream come true.

"I feel like there are some exciting times ahead."

Both Le Tallec and striker Sinama-Pongolle - voted best player in the Under-17s World Cup - have been carefully monitored by Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier, who has been in constant touch with Le Havre throughout the season.

Le Havre coach Jean-Francois Domergue said that the decision to let them go to Liverpool had been well thought out.

He said: "After the FIFA Under-17 World Championships I received 12 offers for them. However I would not have been happy letting them go to any club.

"Liverpool are a magnificent club where I know they will be well looked after and where they will be able to continue their development.

"Gerard phones all the time to check I am not playing them too much but he does not need to worry. I realise they are both 18 and still developing, so despite our precarious position I did not start them in every game."
